What this website collects
If you send us a message through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and your message. The form sends them to us by email through Resend, an email delivery service. A short notification with your name, your email address and the start of your message can also be posted to a private Discord channel we use for alerts. We use what you send only to reply to you and to talk about the work you asked about.
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives technical details of each visit, such as your IP address and browser type, in order to serve the page. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser also contacts Google when a page loads.
This site has no analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not set cookies of its own.
Client work
When a client hires us, we may need access to their systems and accounts, such as a website host, a domain registrar, email or office software, or computers and networks. We use that access only for the work the client engaged us to do, and only for as long as that work needs it. Any personal information we see in those systems belongs to the client, and we handle it on the client's behalf.
Google data for client reports
Some clients get a monthly report on how their website is doing, sent along with their invoice. To set this up, the client adds SyncedTech's Google account as a user on their own Google Analytics property and, where the client asks for it, their Google Search Console site. Our app "SyncedTech client reports" then uses that account's access, read-only, to pull report data such as visits, traffic sources and search performance. It cannot change anything in the client's accounts.
In the future we may ask clients to add a SyncedTech service account, analytics-reader@syncedtech-analytics.iam.gserviceaccount.com, instead. It would have the same read-only access and would be used in the same way.
We use this data only to produce that client's report. The report is built in SyncedTech's operations app, which runs on Vercel and keeps the report data and the finished report in a Supabase database. The plain-English text of the report is drafted with Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. The drafting job runs on SyncedTech's own server and sends that client's data to Claude only to draft that client's report. Joey reviews every report before it is sent.
We do not sell this data or use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models. We keep it only as long as we need it to produce and deliver the report.
SyncedTech's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can remove our access at any time. In Google Analytics, remove the SyncedTech account or the service account under Admin, then Property access management. In Search Console, remove it under Settings, then Users and permissions. Once it is removed, the app can no longer read that property's data.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services named on this page, which handle it so we can run the site and do our work, or when the law requires us to. Vercel, Resend, Discord, Google, Supabase and Anthropic are based in the United States, so information they handle may be stored and processed there.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to how we use it, subject to any legal or contract obligations. Email admin@syncedtech.ca and we will respond within the time those laws allow.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Questions about it go to Joey Fisher at admin@syncedtech.ca.
